Climate Change Impacts on the Road Transport Infrastructure: A Systematic Review on Adaptation Measures

Road transport is one of the main contributors to increasing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, consequently aggravating global warming, but it also sectors that most suffer from climate change, which causes extreme weather events. Thus, strategies, called adaptation measures, have been discussed minimize impacts change on systems and their infrastructure; however, a knowledge gap evident in literature. Therefore, this article develops systematic review with bibliometric approach, still scarce literature, renowned databases, focusing studies developed measures for road infrastructure. The results show that, since development Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change (IPCC), an amount theme published recognized journals such as Science Total Environment, Energy Buildings Urban Climate, analyzing threats intense precipitations high temperatures led biophysical flooding urban heat island. In addition, each type adverse condition, many infrastructure can be listed, well ways detect these impacts, used problems.
